I’ve a 2022 14 inch MacBook Pro (M1 Pro) with the current BluOS controller app installed and the Roon Core app
Networking Gear & Setup Details
Connected wifi, (next room) from the MacBook Pro to a Node2i, which in turn is connected to my amp, speakers etc. The node 2i says Roon ready and I can connect to it via Roon, either from my MacBook using the Roon app or via my iPhone with the Roon app, and play music.
Issue is all my files are Flac on my MacBook, But when playing music via Roon it says the quality is via ‘airplay’, not Flac. IS there a connection setting I need to change so it says Flac? see screenshot
The Node 2(i) is Roon Ready…
This means it will work best when you enable (and utilize) the Bluesound Node under Roon Ready Section of Roon-Settings-Audio.
AirPlay is nice, ut will be compromised in some aspects.
You’re using the Nodes airplay connection and not it’s Roon Ready connection.
Ensure your on the latest firmware as last own prior broke Roon Ready.
Ensure the Node is on the same network subnet as your core and remotes.
Under Roon Settings/Audio it should show up under a Roon Ready section where you should enable it as a zone and disable the zone under the Airplay connection or other network devices.
If it’s still not showing up under Roon Ready section restart your network gear and Mac and try again.
