Hello @owen,

Thank you for reaching out! It sounds like your Roon Remote and Roon Server are having a bit of a “handshake” issue where they recognize each other but can’t quite finalize the connection.

Since this is happening on a Mac, let’s try a few quick steps to refresh that connection:

  1. Restart Roon Server: Don’t just close the Roon window. Look at the Menu Bar at the top of your Mac screen (near the clock). Find the Roon icon, click it, and select “Quit Roon Server”. Then, wait a few seconds and relaunch Roon from your Applications folder.
  2. Local Network Permissions: macOS has strict security settings. Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network. Ensure that the toggle for Roon is turned ON. If it’s already on, try toggling it OFF and then back ON again.
  3. Restart your Mac: It sounds simple, but a full system reboot can often clear out stuck network processes that prevent Roon from loading.

If it still gets stuck on the loading screen after these steps, could you let us know if your Mac is connected via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable? Also, do you have any Antivirus or Firewall software (like Little Snitch or Lulu) running that might be blocking the connection?

Give those restarts a try and let us know if you’re able to get past the loading screen!
