Thanks for sharing those details. Since the iPhone works as expected, the issue is likely localized to the Flip. Have you tried deleting/reinstalling the Roon app and the behavior is the same? Is the Flip on the same network as the iPhone? Are you using any VPNs on the device?
We have a few due diligence items to ensure that the Nucleus has line-of-sight to the phone on the network. We’ll start with those, and then proceed with some recommendations that are specific to your flip phone’s Samsung/Android settings.
First, please double-check that the Nucleus One and the Flip 3 are on the same subnet. You can perform this test by looking at their IP addresses. Here’s a quick guide.
Next, please ensure that your phone is connected to WiFi using the same access point, mesh node, or router to which you’ve hardwired RoonServer (the Nucleus One).
On the phone itself, close Roon completely. Next, disable battery optimization. This setting can limit Roon’s network access. Go to Settings > Battery and Device Care > Battery > Background Usage limits. Turn off “Put unused apps to sleep” and, if available, add Roon to “Never sleeping apps” by tapping the plus icon.
We wanted to ping this thread since we haven’t seen a response. We’re eager to assist further, but we’ll require some of the results of the suggestions in the post above. Specifically, at your convenience, try the following:
Double-check that both devices share a single subnet.
Try to connect the Flip 3 to the same WiFi access point or mesh node serving RoonServer. If you have the Nucleus hardwired to your router, then keep the phone near the router to ensure line-of-sight during testing.
