Continuous login loop with fast redirection screen - Need assistance (ref#XPAETS)

What’s happening?

· I'm having trouble logging in

Where are you having trouble logging in?

· I can't log into the Roon app

Describe the issue

Upon successful login I am immediately redirected back to login screen in a continuous loop. A "redirection" screen (pictured) flashes too fast to read. I used slo-mo video to grab it.

Describe your network setup

ATT fiber>ATT router>TLink ethernet switch>wired Roon Server Ubuntu. ATT router>Eero WiFi>iPad Roon app.

I had not used Roon for a few weeks, it worked fine before. When I started up the server Ubuntu applied Ubuntu updates. When I logged into Roon I had this login problem.

Hey @richidoo,

Thanks for taking the time to write in! Sorry to hear about your login issues. We’re not seeing any devices tied to your account, would you be able to reproduce the issue and share the date/time?

With that, can you test out using a different web browser? Do you have any other remote devices other than an iPad where you’re experiencing this issue?

Based on your screenshot, you’re specifically running into an issue where the web browser is not auto-opening the login page for you, correct?

We’ll be on standby for your reply. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply and assistance.

I get all the login screens, and they all seem to let me through. But the redirection popup instead of letting me into Roon GUI just send me back to “Welcome back! Choose an account”
I have only one account and if I choose the account it just cycles endlessly through the same 3 Roon login screens with a redirection popup that disappears too fast for me to read it.

I tried to login toRoon server with iPad app at 4:18 EDT today but it failed.

I logged into community forum at 4:20 and succeeded.

I tried to login into Roon server at 4:23 with iPhone failed exactly the same as iPad with the endless loop and failed redirection.

I only have Safarai browser installed on my apple devices. I dont want to install another browser just for diagnostics.

I do have Windows 7 laptop with several browsers installed. I used Roon on that long ago. I will try that.

I also receive email security notifications from Roon stating that someone has logged into my account everytime I attempt to log in and get stuck in the login loop.

Maybe my acct is locked or maybe some security screen is on your server is rejecting my login and warning me of potential hacker.

Rooninstaller64.exe returns:
“This device is not compatible with Roon 2.0”

when I try to install Roon on my Win7 laptop, so I cant try t the other browsers.

Pictures better than words.
These are the screens that are cycling in a loop and never let me enter and use Roon:

The redirection screen flashes very fast, like 0.01 seconds, can’t be read in real time so I had to record it with slo-mo to see what it says and grab this pic.

Hi @richidoo,

Thanks for the info! We’re unfortunately not able to see any devices tied to your account, nor any Roon Server machines that have recently connected to our servers.

Can you please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader?

This is expected behaviour, windows 10 is the minimum requirement to run Roon 2.0 :

I would next remove the switch from your network path and temporarily set up a direct hardwire ethernet connection from your Roon Server to your router.

Understood, safari is known to cause hiccups with authentication in the past, if temporarily testing an additional browser isn’t an option, I would review your safari settings and ensure that third-party applications have proper authentic access.
