Controlling ALSA device connected to Roon server under Ubuntu

I am running Roon on Ubuntu 24.04. I activated a device directly connected to the Roon server. The device is shown in roon as “soft-rt5682” “ALSA”. It works fine with one exception: I can’t control the volume. The volume stays fixed to (I guess) 100%. The only way to turn down the volume is on the connected amplifier. As I would like to use my Roon remotes (on android devices), I tried all available settings under audio configuration. So far with no success.

What am I missing? Thanks in advance for any hints.

what make and model of device is it? Is it a DAC? Do you know if it is Roon Ready and recognized by Roon or does it say “Unidentified device” ?

The device is part of the Roon server (running Ubuntu).

No it is not Roon Ready, it is listed by Roon as “unidentified device”.

 solved - everything works fine!
