Controlling Mytek Brooklyn Volume from Rmote

Core Machine (Operating system/System info/Roon build number)
Mac Mini that is the Full Roon Core installed.
Roon Remote on an iPhone and iPad

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)
Mytek Brooklyn (first version) that is connected to an UltraRendu and HD800.

Description Of Issue
The remote works as expected with all of the functions except volume. I think I have tried all of the permutations of the relevant software and DAC settings. Sometimes the volume slider on Roon remote will looks right and sometimes it is highlighted in red. Sometimes it says the volume is fixed, but none of these states allows changing the volume. The only way to change the volume is with the volume knob of the DAC. Am I missing something?
