Convert to Nearfield using EQ

Hello there, do you know how I can convert my speaker to nearfield using EQ?

I tried using high shelf on 4kHz onwards and it seems to work by not being to bright and fatiguing to my ear but I wonder if this is correct.

You can EQ down 3kHz by -6dB and a Q of 7. You can go down to -9dB.
This should ease your listening fatigue.
