Convolution filter on sonictransporter i5

I use a sonictransporter i5 with music files on a nas, playing through a microrendu. I browse on a laptop to point to the filter, which is on the sonictransporter in /storage, but when I browse it only lets me see local files o the laptop - no network locations. Does the convolution filter have to be on the same computer as the roon server (i.e. the sonictransporter), or can it be anywhere when it is loaded?

Hi @Daniel_Ford ----- Thank you for the post!

Updated:

In regard to your question, the filter does not need to be on the same computer as Roon server. If the filter is applied from a Roon remote running on your laptop and then that remote is closed and you continue with the iPad the filter will indeed still be active.

Normally the roon remote is my ipad. I can’t browse to the filter from the ipad so I have to use a laptop running roon remote to refer to the filter. The Roon server is running on a sonictransporter i5, but I can’t browse to that location in roon remote. If I upload the filter from the laptop and then shut it down, and resume using roon remote on the ipad, does the filter stay active? I’m confused.

Hi @Daniel_Ford ---- Apologies for the confusion in my post and misinformation. My previous has been updated and should answer your question more concisely.

Eric thanks for the quick reply and clarification. Good news that I’ll be able to do room correction (planning on using Home Audio Fidelity), and still use the ipad as a remote.
