I use roon convolution machine, it works good but when I play a FLAC 44.1 16bit 44.1 MQA, roon plays at 1.1x speed. it goes faster then normal.
if I disable MQA capability of the DAC and I let roon doing decoding and rendering of MQA I have no such a problem.
If I play all other frequencies combination (up to now) I have no problem, even if I play FLAC 44.1 24bit 44.1 MQA I have no issues.
I already tried to change filter in the conv. machine but the issue persists.it seems an issue related to MQA and 16bit combination.
Obviously if I switch off convolution everything works good.
I cannot send it right now, I will send you ASAP. I tried several cases and it´s always same issue. Do you think it could be a DAC issue? It shouldn´t be from my knowledge point of view
I was thinking the convolution files, maybe got corrupted. Did you do yourself the convolution files? When I export as wav from REW I can choose what frequencies to export, for every frequency a wav file or less of them and roon does the upsampling of those files.
Maybe the dac doesn’t like the repackaging… I do not have an idea. But we can test maybe we find something.
You can send me the convolution files if you want me to try with those.
Hi, yes, I did it by myself. It tried with conol. files inversion filter and EQ. filter. For both of them I tried a zip file with 44.1 and 48 and or a zip file with 44.1 - 48 - 88.8 - 96 - 192. It seems I have same issue.
I would like to send you the dsp files but I don´t know how to do it! I really would appreciate your help!
I do not know conol.
How did you load them in Roon? Usually there is a browser method. Also it should tell you the name of the zip file so maybe you can search for their names
For example my zip files it is called “MLP All Az corrected inverted”
I think the setting in roon are corrected. I tried with DAC as full decode, only rendering and they don´t work (only with this 44.1-16-44.1 MQA).
I check the speed manually. Every 10 second it gains 1 second… obviously your hear a slightly different sound
have you tried my convolution files?
I cannot think something else.
Do you have a second computer where you can enable the core just for a test (with a new roon instal)?
