Copying music files to Nucleus One SSD using MacBook Pro (ref#7GNG44)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· Hello

I have a Nucleus One to which I integrated a Western Digital Red SA500 series SSD on which I had initially pre-recorded my music CD library.

I am equipped with a MacBook Pro M4 Max and currently running Mac Os Tahoe 26.1.
I use the "Music" application in which I recently:
- recorded several CDs
- purchased several Albums through iTunes Store

How to copy these different CDs/albums to the Nucleus One SSD?

I read and apply your guide https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/nucleus-internal-storage#Step_3_Copying_Music_to_the_Drive

But I am stuck at one stage

Here is the internal SSD disk of the Nucleus One
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/qhxk8roo6ow5lalj6fdoj/Internal-SSD-disk-of-the-Nucleus-One.png?rlkey=8bftkco2adxoduzscqkatemed&dl=0

Here is where the music is on my Mac that I want to copy to the SSD disk of the Nucleus One

And the Guide tell me : « You can now copy your music files and folders into this window to copy them to the Nucleus »

But concretely what do I do if I want to copy
- 1 album?
=> Example Where I copy the folder « Amir 2016 Au cœur de moi (Collector Edition) »
- all the Music albums?
=> Can I copy the folder « Music » ? Where ?

Thank you in advance for your answer
Best regards

Philippe

Hello @Philippe_GIRAULT,

Thank you again for the screenshots — they clarify this very well.

One important correction first:

You can copy music directly into InternalStorage

The Roon Imports folder is used mainly for music that was ripped directly by the Nucleus from CDs.
However, for music copied from another computer (your Mac), you can copy it anywhere inside InternalStorage.

Roon will automatically scan all folders under InternalStorage.

You may copy your music directly into:

InternalStorage

You can also create your own folder structure there, for example:

InternalStorage
 └── Music
     └── Amir
     └── ABBA
     └── Adele

This is perfectly supported and often the cleanest approach.

Copying a single album

For example, to copy:

Amir 2016 Au cœur de moi (Collector Edition)

You can:

  1. Open InternalStorage on the Nucleus
  2. (Optional) Create a folder like Music
  3. Drag the album folder directly into that location

Roon will pick it up automatically.

Copying all your music

Yes — you can copy all albums at once.

From your Mac:

  • You may copy all artist folders, or
  • Copy the entire Music folder

Just place them under InternalStorage
