Core Migration to New Hardware

I have a core running in a virtual machine, I thought it would be sufficient for the trial and it has been. However, I’m convinced it’s not the best place for it to live long term. I feel like I should get a dedicated NUC for it. How would this affect my licencing (currently on trial and considering lifetime) and is there a migration process to follow?

Hope you guys can help!

There is a knowledge base doc that explains how to migrate the core from one machine to another.

I believe it amounts to:

  1. Perform Roon backup on current Core
  2. Log in to other core with your Roon account, this will transfer the license registration over.
  3. Restore the backup made on the old Core to the new Core.

But look for the KB doc.

Thank you both! Much appreciated.
