Roon gave me a scare this morning. When I started the client on my work laptop this morning (I use it only as a remote), I got the message that my database was currupt. I closed the client, rebooted ROCK, and restarted the client and the message was gone. It has been working without issue all day.
Run a backup!
There seems to be currently an issue with (possibly spurious?) “error loading library” messages, reported by several users:
Always have backups.
I have backups of my Roon DB, backups of my backups, and a backup of my entire music library. So I’m not worried about losing anything. I’m nearly certain that the error message was erroneous anyway.
Hello @Nick ,
I saw your message in the software section and wanted to move you over to the Support category so we can look into your case. I activated diagnostics for your Server and I am also noticing the corruption error on our end.
Looking even further into the ROCK system-level diagnostics, I am seeing fsck errors for your InternalStorage drive, indicating that your InternalStorage is starting to fail. I would suggest an a replacement as soon as possible. As for the corruption, I suggest reverting to the latest Roon backup before the issues began.
After restoring the latest backup, please double-check your ROCK logs by using these instructions for any Critical: Library.EndMutation: LevelDb.Exception: Corruption: bad entry in block trace in them, as this could indicate latent corruption.
