Cover not visible

Content you’re reporting an issue with

Today I have added 5 albums with 2 cd’s each on my local storage. All same origin in ogg format file.

This one is with cover, no problem (put it as a reference here)

At the beginning I had the issue with album number #3 and #4. I read about “ghost albums” in Recycle Bin so I did empty it.

I have re-recorded with MP3Tag the image and album for both and #4 has been corrected but no way to manage this :frowning:

Have you made any edits to this content in Roon?

I choose to manually edit and decided to keep all as Roon metadata less the cover.

I have checked and tried some combinations but no results.

Is the album identified in Roon?

No.

Yes, “unidentified”

Is this content from local files, TIDAL, or Qobuz?

Local files

The only difference between this album and the other that I have noticed is the duality as “Various Artists” and “Varios Artistas” (spanish)

Sorry, do not understand

Description of the issue

No way to see the cover is included on every file as per MP3TAG action (edit) if record is found, mistakes labelling the tracks

Stranger Things outta TV series…

Here you are the cover

But bad names for the files on the record

Is repeating names for different tracks. It happens when I use two folders, one per Cd -as per original record- like I did with the other 4 records imported.

Hi @Jose_Alconchel,

Can you please provide the affected CD here? Please zip the file and use this secure uploader.

Thank you!

uploaded both cd’s from volume 3 (the ones with duplicates)

many thanks and waiting for your updates

Hi @Jose_Alconchel,
Thank you for uploading the files.

I was able to import them, but I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue on our side. The files you uploaded were provided individually, so we couldn’t verify the exact folder structure of your library — and the folder structure is often important when diagnosing this type of behavior.

Would you kindly create a ZIP archive of the full folder, preserving the directory structure, and upload it here? Once we have the complete bundle, we’ll re-test and confirm the behavior.

By the way as this album is shown as VA you can try restarting your Roon server and check the behavior.

Thank you — we’ll be ready to take the next steps as soon as we receive the full archive.

Ok, I am updating the folder as zip using the same secure link provided.

Hello @Jose_Alconchel

Thank you for the update.

Regretfully, everything is still running smoothly on my end.

Would you kindly go tho the Album → Edit and try to re-identify the album.

After this, please follow the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader? Once logs have been uploaded, please let us know so that we can check the server for your files, thanks!

hi @vadim I had manually taken yesterday every file on both cd’s and put file data instead of Roon information.

After your message, I had removed the folder, then re-scan my library and add the original files, but I think it is recovering the information from my manual update. Or, at least, like a mixing (?)

there is 16 files, Roon is showing less files and mixed information of VA and real musicians

please can I know what to do, now? little lost

Hello @Jose_Alconchel,

Thank you for the update.

Just to clarify — SMB shares do not update automatically in real time. When new files are added, Roon may require a manual rescan to detect them.
Please go to Settings → Storage, click the ⋯ (three dots) next to your storage location, and select Force Rescan.

Please let us know if the new content appears after the rescan.

I did re-scan (three dots) after deleting the files.

I did re-scan (again) when added

Now I have the same files in different locations with different results as information shown by Room.

Hello @Jose_Alconchel

Thank you for the update.

If you will perform the Library cleanup under the Settings → Library

A few screenshots to understand the current state would be much appreciated

Dear Vadim

After cleanup, I find this on my library

we have twice the same record, one as 2 disk and another one

if I look into the folder

I can see track #4 is out of the 1st cd, appears as #4 instead of expected #1-4

I notice also instead of VA appears the real Album Artist

file is not appearing on Cd1 and now appears as “another version” but same location (obvious, it is together with the others)

please, can you help me?

Today I have done this:

  1. deleted folder
  2. re-scan library
  3. library maintenance
  4. added folder
  5. generated both sub-folders as “Cd 1” and “Cd 2”
  6. re-scan library

now it is appearing as it should

did you do any change?

Hello @Jose_Alconchel ,

Glad to hear that everything is now appearing correctly! We have not made any changes on our end as far as I’m aware, but clearing out the content with clean up library sounds like it helped resolve the issue. I’ll go ahead and mark the thread for closure, but should you have furter difficulties with the content, just let us know and we can take another look. Thanks!
