I am getting a crackling sound from one speaker that I hear when music is paused. I do not get this if I use my iMac as the sever but it does happen with my recently purchased Nucleus One. The iMac was connected to my PS Audio Perfectwave DAC through Ethernet into a Bridge 2 card. The Nucleus One is connected to the DAC WITH USB. I purchased the Nucleus to use instead of the iMac as I wanted local storage that was always on. I am wondering if the Nucleus One is faulty?
Describe your network setup
The router is an Orbi mesh router. As mentioned, the system apparently works fine with an Ethernet connection to my iMac but not with the direct USB connection between the Nucleus and DAC.
Hi @scottl145,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. I think the next step here is to enable some diagnostics on your account so our technical staff can get some more insight into what’s going on here.
However, before I enable this feature, I’d like to ask for your help ensuring we gather the right information.
First, can you please reproduce the issue once more and note the time at which the error occurs. Then respond here with that time, and I’ll make sure we review the diagnostics related to that timestamp.
Thanks for providing that timestamp, yes, this is what was required. I am seeing something strange here though, it doesn’t look like your Nucleus is communicating with our diagnostic servers. Also, if the issue is only happening via the USB/HDMI while network playback works as expected, this could be due to an electrical noise issue. I would try to connect the Nucleus to a different power strip/outlet to see if that perhaps helps.
