Here’s what my Windows desktop looks like:

Note there are two Roon installations.

Here’s the “properties” card of each:

This is all after an uninstall and new install of Roon on my laptop.

I have a separate dedicated server with a Roon Server install.

Roon is installing both server and local interface (player) on my laptop. I’m not getting asked during the install which one I want to install. Isn’t the install supposed to ask me that?

Hello, @danny2,

Thanks for the screenshots and the extra detail about the reinstall.

We can see that Roon is now installing both Roon Server and the Roon Remote UI together on your laptop, and that is expected as Roon no longer ships those components separately.

You can use whichever Roon Server you want on your local network, so this is not limiting which server the app connects to.

For the crash when opening edit metadata, the diagnostics report points to a deprecated GPU driver on the laptop as a likely cause. Please update your GPU driver using Intel Driver & Support Assistant, then let us know whether that changes the behavior.

Also, please let us know whether Roon crashes in any other scenario, or only when you try to edit metadata.

Thanks.

updated drivers; issue seems to be solved.
