I always add tags to albums and on tracks. I find it very satisfying to have my “comment” as tags on and in albums. For example I add a reference volume tag at the top of all the albums, that way I know at what volume I enjoyed the album last time. And I often add references to tracks in the albums, like “Fantastic Piano” Is there a possibility to when I go to show my tags, I can choose for example my tag “Fantastic Piano” to create a new playlist by just pressing a button? I couldn’t find that option yesterday.
But this will add all your 43 album tracks into the playlist?
Many times there is just one or two tracks in an album that is amazing of some sort, and deserves the tag, so with my “Fantastic Piano” tab there could be like 100 albums with only one track in each that deserves that tag. Any way to create an playlist just adding exactly those tracks and not their albums into the playlist?
You can do this without making a playlist and take any set of filtered music and create a Bookmark. Bookmarks don’t require you to “select all”. Their only disadvantage is that they aren’t available in Roon ARC.
You can also just choose Shuffle on the tag and a random sequence of music from your tagged albums will be played. If you find that a great selection/sequnce was chosen; you can then go to history select all those tracks that had been played and create a playlist from that selection.
BTW, if you have different tags and you wanted to hear music from various tags, you can create a Tag that tags those tags. i.e. I have albums in ECM jazz tag andVerve jazz Tag. I can create MyJazz Tag and add the other tags to that tag. Then if I Shuffle the MyJazz tag, it pulls music from all the tags under it.
