Crossfeed DSP and loss of high end

When I use any of the Crossfeed settings using headphones, I like the sound being blended, but experience a loss of the high end. There really isn’t a good explanation of the settings and what they actually do. I have played with them a bit, but in the end, except for older recordings that have really bad right left mixes always prefer the setting to be off.

Can someone please explain the two settings and what they do and is there a setting that does not diminish the high end?

Regarding the loss of high end, it could be that the volume drops a few dbs with the crossfeed on. Anyway, I would like an explanation of the two settings in the Crossfeed custom settings.
