DAC shopping for RAAT Ethernet protocol

The ELAC site says their Ethernet port is NOT for audio. “Ethernet port for software updates, command and control” Otherwise, an excellent performer, but NOT a Roon/RAAT-ready Ethernet device.

Hmm, like to see where this is on the ELAC site, because the spec sheet for the device says it’s a Roon endpoint.

OK, I think I see what your looking at. It doesn’t state that the Ethernet port is ONLY for updates, command and control, just that that is a use.

I realize you have made a decision on what you want, but since I plan on buying this device, I will ask ELAC directly. Too be continued…

Spec sheet also says streaming input-Ethernet, so pretty safe to assume it is not for updates only.

We have a RoonReady network DAC at Musica Pristina. It uses the Burr-Brown 1794 and so maxes out at 192/24.

I have this exact setup for sale, reluctantly of course. Great pairing and the DDP-2 is a stellar performer!
