For a while I played around with HQP streaming through my RPi3 to my Denon NA8005, which supports up to DSD128. the RPi couldn’t really keep up and I got lots of dropouts at 128 so I stayed mostly at DSD64.
When Roon 1.3 came out, I tried upsampling to DSD128 and all I get is static. Why would it work for HQP but not roon? I did switch the RPi over to DietPi, but I would assume that wouldn’t impose any limitations on DSD128 on its own.
As an aside, if i set Roon to upsample to 128 and play (and get static), then switch back to DSD64, there is a loud hiss in the signal but the music plays, albeit at a reduced level. The only way to make this hiss go away is to disable DSP then re-enable it. Then all is fine again at DSD64. Is this normal?
