DAC with WIFI via RAAT?

I have an old B&W subwoofer that only has analog Line in. I would like to use Roon to stream music to this subwoofer via RAAT. What device (DAC with WIFI) would I need to buy to make that possible? Many thanks

You could use a Raspberry Pi with a suitable DAC hat, e.g., IQAudiO Pi-DAC, and use the onboard Wi-Fi. Using Ropieee make set up a breeze, albeit you’ll need to connect the RPi to your router for the initial setup.

Roon generally works best with an Ethernet connection, so be sure to place the RPi where you have a strong Wi-Fi signal.

A cost effective solution would be a Raspberry Pi 3 or 4 with a HAT or a USB DAC of your choice. A compatible HAT would be the most streamlined solution. Streaming DACs that run RAAT are not common, and they tend to be expensive. Just about the best value would be one of the BluOS Node 2 series (there are three generations) or an Auralic Aries Mini. These should be out there second hand.

Many thanks for your suggestion. I am now looking for a computer engineer/IT specialist who could actually put this all together. This seems to be harder than expected. Would you know what skills/experience that person needs?

many thanks for the suggestion. I tried to get in touch with them but they do not deliver to the Philippines (only within Europe). Would you know if a system by iFi (Zen stream + DAC?) would be suitable? Or will there be problems with synchronization with the other speakers?

Sorry, I don’t know

Try a 12 year old :scream:

PI2AES - PRO AUDIO SHIELD feeding a DAC.
