Daily mixes failed to load after previously working (ref#PH0KA0)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· Daily mixes loaded yesterday. Today, they do not load.

Tell us about your home network

· All Unifi gear. Router is a UDM Pro. No VPN.

When I first load, I get a spinning logo for a minute or two, and then the rest of the home page loads without Daily Mixes. Same behavior on MacOS, iPad, and iPhone.

I restarted the Roon Core, and I rebooted my ROCK. My ROCK is running on a NUC. Same behavior.

I listen to Daily Mixes almost every day while I work. Obviously, not today.

I have the same issues running my Roon server on Windows 11. As of today, there are no daily mixes showing up. That seems to have started this morning,

Same here, long spinning logo below “new releases for you” then further loading without daily mixes….

Interestingly, Daily mixes load normally on my ARC app.

Also, I got a notice to update on my Mac desktop, but I still don’t see Daily Mixes there.

Update: Got update notices on my iPhone and iPad as well. Same behavior after updating all.

Note, I always run the latest versions everywhere.

Hi @Dave_Dupre ,

I’ve analyzed the diagnostic logs you uploaded.

While there is currently a known issue on the forums regarding “Daily Mixes” not loading for some users, your logs indicate a completely different, local connectivity issue that is preventing your Core from getting online.

Specifically, in the log file starting at 16:30, the system reports: SKIPPED eth0: no ipv4

This means the OS sees the network card, but your router is not assigning it an IP address. In the previous log at 16:23, your Core successfully had the IP 192.168.1.150, but it lost the connection shortly after.

To resolve this, please try the following:

  1. Check the physical connection: Ensure the Ethernet cable connecting your Core to the router/switch is securely plugged in. If possible, try a different cable or a different LAN port.
  2. Reboot your router: Since the Core is failing to get an IP via DHCP, a router reboot often resolves this.
  3. Reboot your Roon Core: Once the router is back up, restart the Core.
Let me know if this gets you back online for a longer time.

Thanks.

This is very interesting for a few reasons. First, my UDM Pro logs show no disconnections. Second, even though I didn’t see any daily mixes, I’ve been playing content from my ROCK all day. Given all my music is on a NAS or Tidal, I expect that that playback would not be stable if I was disconnecting. Finally, nothing was touched on this machine in forever – other than the occasional Roon update that gets pushed down.

For giggles, I changed to a static IP. My ROCK is still available on my network, like it always has been. No Daily Mixes though.

I have restarted Roon, rebooted ROCK, and I physically turned it off and on. My network is stable. Everything works except Daily Mixes.

As an FYI, my NUC has been running in this config for many years, not always as a ROCK.

@alex_h I’m running Roon on Windows 11 and I have the daily mixes missing as well. I ran an update today, rebooted my router and my server. It takes a long time for the Roon playlists to load and the daily mixes are missing. I made a copy of my log file and can send to you if you need it.

I just logged into Roon ARC and see the daily mixes but not on the Roon app.

Thanks.

Marc

Thanks for the update @Dave_Dupre - our team is taking a closer look behind the scenes, and we should have more information to share soon. :+1:

Sure thing, Benjamin! Happy to provide any more logs or info, if needed.

@benjamin

This is how my Home Screen looks like after the last update

It looks like it’s more than Daily Mixes. If I load an artist, I see Albums in my Library and Appearances in my Library. Then I get the same spinning logo for a minute, and then not much displays. I can’t say what’s missing, but it’s definitely not as much as before.

Lesson is: don’t release updates on Friday 13th and then take the weekend off

Hey @Dave_Dupre,

Thanks for the update! Our team is able to reproduce similar behavior, and we’ll share updates as soon as they’re presented to us. Thank you for your ongoing patience here!

@BergeP I understand this is a frustrating issue, and while we shouldn’t have to remind you, I will: this is a technical support thread, not a place to leave opinions and feedback around Roon. If your post isn’t in a position to help move the issue forward, please refrain from posting, or post it over in our Feedback category. Thanks for your continued cooperation moving forward.

Since this morning everything back to normal.

Daily mixes are back and home page loading as quickly as before.

Well done support :clap:t2::clap:t2::clap:t2:

Yes! I see everything loading normally. Thank you!
