Issue:

I can view/manipulate the NUC via my web browser, have tried resetting/restarting/reinstalling the ROCK several times. No Joy.
via my macbook pro/finder I can access the codecs folder - ffmpeg is there.

sometimes I get to the choose your roon core page:
Roon Optimized Core Kit Serial #1C697A624DF7
Firmware 1.0 (build 227) stable/192.168.1.22, Version 1.8 (build 911) stable

It goes through the process of adding the music files.
I have about 150K tracks in my library. Internal Music Storage: 2000GB, CT2000BX500SSD1
28% of 1848 GB available

Haven’t had access to my music since I was part of the recent beta test. :frowning:
I don’t have a good log available since the upgrade/update to 1.8.

Thanks,
Steve

Hey Steve,

do you have a recent backup that you can restore from? can you try to do that?

I have a backup from 12/23/21 but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. I keep getting stuck at the “There was an issue loading your library” screen. I’ve renamed the RoonServer folder several times, and I’ve tried all the steps in the following link without success.

Unfortunately I only have the one backup - didn’t have room in dropbox for more data…

Bump for some help from support, please.

Hi Steve,

Not official support, just a friendly fellow user.

Is your only backup on Dropbox? And, if so, are you restoring from Dropbox, or, downloading the backup locally and then trying to restore from that? I would suggest the second, if you have not already done so.

If your lone backup will not restore, then the last option is to rebuild your library. And, I would suggest adding a USB key or HD to backup to, so that you might have several backups saved.

But, you might wait for an official response before doing so.

Another user chiming in.

If your Backup was taken before Build 880, then the Backup is probably also corrupted. If that’s the case, then there is nothing you can do, but rebuild everything.

Prior to Build 880, Roon would (ironically) Backup a corrupted database, thereby making that Backup useless.

Theoretically, that logic has been fixed and going forward Backups should be of more help in your situation. Doesn’t help now, of course.

Tagging @support for your bump.

Thanks guys, I appreciate you chiming in… sounds like I can/should probably give rebuilding the entire thing a try. I’ll just start from scratch with it! Updates coming…

Hey Steve,

I agree with the suggestions from others, i’m afraid you will have to start from 0. we will keep an eye on the progress and don’t hesitate to report back with updates.

I reloaded everything on the NUC over the weekend. It worked for a bit… I have had the power go out a few times prior to the problems starting, so… I decided to replace some gear. Starting with the memory stick. Installed this tonight - I’ll check back and let you all know what I’ve found.

Everything seemed to be OK, running fine for a few days. I tried a manual backup to dropbox and it crashes… and comes back. Not sure if this is normal? I’ve never sat and watched a manual backup. Is this normal?
Thanks,

Steve

It doesn’t sound normal to me, have you tried to do a local backup?

On a semi-related note. If I know that there has been a power outage, I do Restore without giving it a second thought.

Why take chances?
