Description Of Issue
I changed cores and when the files loaded to my new core the “date added” section on Roon got totally scrambled, I guessing because now everything was added on the same date.

Is there any way to recover the original dates added before the core change?

What process did you follow to change cores,?

Backed up my files on my existing core to an external hard drive and loaded that into the new core, then enabled the new core in Roon and transferred Tidal and Qobuz to the new core. I the proc ess the old core was removed from Roon.

Did you do a roon backup and restore?

Hi @anon75017651,

Did you follow the Preserve Edits Guide? You restored a Roon backup after moving the files?

This I did not do. I had been backing up Roon regularly to the ext HDD so I ran a fresh back up. All of my saved Tidal and Qobuz albums made the trip and are where they are supposed to be now but Date Added is scrambled.

Hi @anon75017651,

If you have set up a new database, then everything will be imported as new.
You’ll want to restore your old database:

I think I’m stuck. My old core was shipped off to my son in another state. Not the end of the world because everything made it to the new core and it works fine except for the date added section. As far as I can tell all of my album edits made it as well.

Hi @anon75017651,

If you have shipped off the old Core and you don’t have a backup of the database before you shipped it, you will unfortunately need to start with the fresh database and have your content re-imported.

I had been automatically backing up Roon on Roon as well as my music. When I got the new core I bought a new HDD and manually backed up the old core. That’s what I used to load the new core.

Hi @KenS,

Yes, I understand that you have been backing up the music files, but did you restore the database to the new Core once you have set it up?
