dCS Rossini not appearing in audio outputs on MacBook Pro Roon (ref#F9URMF)

What best describes your playback issue?

· My DAC, streamer, or speaker doesn't appear as a Zone in Roon

What type of Zone is affected by this problem?

· *Network Zones* are affected.

Is the affected network Zone connected with Ethernet or WiFi?

· Ethernet

Which network audio protocol is the Zone using with Roon?

· Airplay

Since this is an Airplay Zone, have you tried toggling Airplay Compatibility Mode for this Zone in the Device Setup window?

· There is no change in behavior.

Does the device play audio from another source when using the same connection?

· The device has no problems with another audio source

Have you checked that Roon is whitelisted in any firewalls?

· I've checked the firewall and the issue remains

Since you are using a network connection to the device, please ensure that your RoonServer is on the same subnet as the device

· My devices are on a single subnet but is not visible to Roon

Do you have a complex network setup?

· Both the device and RoonServer are connecting to a *single router*

Try to disable any additional networking interfaces on your RoonServer machine.

· Disabling network interfaces had no change in behavior

Check to make sure RoonReady mode is selected on the device.

· I've checked this and the issue remains

If the device has multiple output options, do the other options work as expected?

· Only one output type is affected while the other output type works as expected

Is the device using the latest firmware as per the manufacturer?

· Firmware is up-to-date but the issue remains

Do you have an approximate timestamp of when the issue last occurred?

· 9am Pacific Standard Time on 12/30/24 - but pretty much the entire time before this for weeks.

What are the make and model of the affected audio device(s) and the connection type?

· 2023 M3 MacBook Pro (OS 15.2), dCS Rossini latest firmware

Describe the issue

My dCS Rossini does not appear in my audio outputs with my MacBook Pro install of Roon unless I go into my Mac's system preference and select the dCS, in which case it plays with Airplay and not as intended.

Describe your network setup

Cox Router using top tier fiber optic 1GB... connecting dCS via Ethernet to the router and the MacBook Pro via Wifi to the router.

As I understand it, there have been some issues with Roon connectivity with Sequoia 15.2

As such, I have not updated my MacBook Pro from Sonoma 14.7.2

If I recall correctly, there have been other posts on this subject.
If you haven’t already done so, I suggest that you conduct a forum search.

Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. @Bauer is correct that there are ongoing issues with Sequoia. Please try the below steps and let us know the result.

  1. Retoggle Roon permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network when networked Zones disappear
  2. Restart RoonServer to rebroadcast device discovery
