Deadline for the rollout of the Roon new versions

Is there a deadline for the rollout of the Roon versions to all users?

If there is no such deadline, then how and when can a user know that something is not ok and that he was omitted from the rollout?

Still waiting for latest version/build here in France…

Not here in uk either. I can assume the US gets it first being they are mainly based there.

That’s not how this works. It’s a slow rollout; please be patient.

I think you understand that end users need more concrete information than “slow rollout” or “the coming days”.
How long will it take: 3 days, 1 week, 2 months?..

Is this not by region then or is this made by some other separation?

Hi Joel is this one going out to EA users as well or just production.
If it’s not I will stop checking :face_with_peeking_eye:

Hi Joël

Personally I am in favour of slow rollouts, resulting in smooth upgrades.

One question though, whilst the main server rollout has non been announced, my Roon remotes (iPadOS and Android) have already upgraded.
Does not seem to cause any issues, but in the past synchronization between server (core) and remotes was important to have everything workingas it should.

Would it not be advisable (if at all possible) to keep the synchronization between server version and remote control versions?

The release note clearly states:

This update will be made available to all users over the next week

As far as I’m concerned this means it can take up to 7 days.

This is if you ignore the days of the current week. The days of the current week plus those of the next week mean 10-11 days (depends on which country you live in)…

Sure. But is is still a deadline, which I believe is what your original question was.

From the existing information, can you deduce the calendar date on which the rollout will be completed?
I cannot make this deduction…

The announcement was made on November 8th. Based on my initial interpretation, I would expect the rollout to be completed within 1 week (=7 days) after the announcement. So I would say by November 15th.

If you interpret “next week” as calendar week, and take into consideration that Roon is located in the US, where generally a work week is considered to start on a Monday, then it could be as late as November 19. From my end, I would not post a concern about missing rollout before November 20 as Roon does not work on weekend.

Of course, I did not take into consideration the average airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow as I do not know if Roon using African or European swallows for the roll-out.
What I mean is, my system is working. I’m enjoying my music. I don’t care if the update is today or next week.

I care, so I’m waiting for the answer from Roon Labs.

It’s a Production release.

And once you are in EA, you get only EA builds, not Production builds. However, the last EA release was the Release Candidate for the Production release, and the build numbers are very close (1351 vs 1353), so personally I wouldn’t worry about it.

If you want to switch back to the Production stream, then that’s something you will have to do yourself.

The chance of that happening before the update just shows up at your doorstep is between slim and none. But best luck with it.

Thanks yes I see that it’s only one build out, and I was going to move back to production, but FOMO is real

The download link for Roon Server for Linux still points to the old version.
Would you please update the link?
