From a later version of Deep Purple, I was remembering that we saw Glenn Hughes perform the songs of Deep Purple two years ago, and whilst not knowing what to expect, it was one of the best gigs we’ve ever been to…up there with Prince, final night 2007. The, admittedly mature, audience went insane.
The version of ‘Highway Star’ on this MQA version of ‘Made in Japan’ captures something of how good he was, and of how they must have been live back in the day.
