DENON Home speakers in stereo via Roon

Dears,

First of all, Happy New Year and best wishes for 2026!

Recently I expanded my audio setup (Marantz with HEOS and Roon Ready) with two DENON Home Speakers for the kitchen. Through HEOS, these two speakers are configured as a stereo pair. However, when set to stereo, Roon only recognizes one speaker. When the speakers are set to mono, Roon does detect both speakers, but Roon then plays in mono.

I now have two questions:

1. Is this normal behavior, and for example the same as with Sonos speakers?
2. Is there any way to get the speakers to play in stereo in Roon (possibly via a workaround)?

New Denon Home Announcement

Denon released a new FW update that lets AirPlay see a stereo pair as a single speaker, so now they do show up correctly in Roon. However, Denon hasn’t added support for the RAAT protocol, so you’re still limited to the max sound quality of AirPlay 2, which unfortunately is 44.1/16. The Bluesound speakers support higher bitrates, but don’t have native DSD support. But, I find that since I’m using Roon way more than I’m using a Media Server or a USB thumb drive, I’d prefer to have gone with the B…
