Denon S670H not showing a Roon Ready option

I have ttried updating the Denon Firmware, but it says it’s the latest. I have no ‘Roon Ready’ option in the denon setup menu. I can only use the Denon with roon via AirPlay. What to do?

Is Roon Ready enabled in the receiver’s settings?

That’s the problem. Denon says that the S670H is Roon Ready. However there is NO Roon Ready option in the settings Audio menu, only WiFI/Bluetooth and AirPlay. Firmware says it’s latest version installed. Here is where I am stuck!

Then you probably need to contact your dealer or Denon directly.

I think I saw this same problem updating my AVR-X6800H. I unplugged and plugged back in and it appeared.

I’ll give that a try later today when I get home.

Nope. It didn’t make any difference unfortunately.

Hello @Ian_May ,

I’ve moved your post over to the Support section for better tracking of this issue.

I’ve activated diagnostics for your account, and I am only seeing a Denon AVR-S760 registered to it, the 760 is not a Roon Ready zone, it is only Roon Tested (via Airplay).

Can you please provide a screenshot/picture showing the model of this device on your end? Can you clarify - do you have both the S760 and an S670?

OK. My mistake. I have a 760, but I downloaded the wrong manual, and led myself up the garden path. I think, perhaps, Roon isn’t for me right now, until I upgrade my Denon at least, as I can play lossless via Tidal/Qobuz Connect, and I can play my local FLAC files using Elmedia Player via DLNA. Airplay is, of course, lossy.

Hello @Ian_May .

We’re sorry to see this confusion.

But roon is always welcome once you have a compatible device!

Have a nice day!

Regards.

I have an LG OLED TV. When I connect Roon to that, although it doesn’t say Roon Ready the output path says it’s lossless. That, of course, plays through my Denon AVR. I also have a Topping DX1 headphone DAC which, although again, not listed as Roon Ready, reports a losseless path when I use it with headphones.

Roon Ready” or “Roon Tested” are not pre-requisites for a device being able to handle lossless bitstreams…

Hello Geoff, Thank you for your reply. In that case, I will continue to use Roon, as other than the Denon issue I was having, I am very happy with all that Roon offers.
