Devialet Chat

Is it just me, or has the Devialet Chat forum disappeared?

Let’s hope not.

I have seen the error ‘Account Suspended’. Might be a Cloudflare message, but I do not know… We will hopefully know more during the coming week.

Same for me, the Account shows to be suspended.

Me as well. As there is no access for those of us suspended, it would be great to receive updates here. Thank you.

Same for me :face_without_mouth:

Looks like it is the main forum account that has been suspended - maybe someone did not pay the bill ? As far as I know, the forum was originally set up by independent users (Guillaume ?) and was not supported or acknowledged by Devialet themselves, so it is not clear where the responsibility lies now. It has been pretty quiet lately, but I have found it to have been an invaluable source of knowledge and information over the last ten years, so I hope this is only a temporary glitch.

Same here. Account suspended.

I think there was/is only Rob running the whole admin. Co- founders Guillaume and the other bloke who never participated much jumped ship a long time ago. If it has gone then that’s a real shame as it was a great place to receive/give help, find music suggestions and hang out

Nice to see a few names that I recognise. Hello guys, hope you’re all okay.

I believe Guillaume still owns the devialetchat.com domain, but he avoided the forum after he started his import business as he didn’t want to ‘mix’ the two.

I have contacted Guillaume on Linkedin some days ago. No reply so far.

For those of you who want to retrieve some archived information, there are backups available on the WaybackMachine from 2023 and earlier years. See the link below to start with:

Thanks for the link.

I have been told through a very reliable source that the forum hosting agreement ran out. Efforts are being made to restore it. I’ll update if I hear more.

Yes. Not good news.

I used to be a reader/contributor to the Devialet Chat site in the early years as I struggled to get my Devialet up and working consistently with streaming as the input. It was Roon that saved the day for Devialet, only for Roon to have its own issues (though not as frequent as the ones experienced using the Devialet options). Thus, once I started using Roon, I rarely accessed Devialet Chat. For me, it has only been the last two years that everything has been working consistently with Roon. History repeats itself, as my need to deal with Roon problems has diminished to close to zero, my engagement with the Roon Community Forum has also greatly reduced.

Sadly I have nothing to add here about the future of Devialet Chat, just logging in to say hello to everyone and comiserate if the forum isn’t coming back.

Hello Ian

Yes, it is very sad. Your own contributions to that forum were always well-informed and extremely useful, and the whole Devialet community is going to be worse off without access to such a worthwhile resource. A real shame that Devialet themselves always took such a hands-off approach to engaging with their users and never acknowledged the forum. Anyway, it’s great that you and many others are on here and can still share the years of knowledge and experience that we have acquired. Best regards, Steve

It is sad that Devialet Chat is offline. While I have long since lost my love for Devialet, the company, I still have my Expert Pro 440 and it continues to serve me well. There were many posts in Devialet Chat that I returned to periodically and they will be missed.

Is there any other community forum that discusses the Expert Pros in an ongoing and helpful fashion?
