I’m having an issue with device discovery in Roon and would appreciate your help.

I have two KEF systems:

KEF LSX II
KEF LSX II LT

Both are connected to the same WiFi network, and both work correctly with KEF Connect (including Qobuz playback). They also appear in Roon as AirPlay and Chromecast devices.

However, only one of them shows up as a Roon Ready device. The other (LSX II LT) does not appear under Roon Ready at all — only under Chromecast and AirPlay.

Because of this, I can only use Google Cast with that pair, and I’m not able to use RAAT / full Roon functionality.

What I have already tried:

Restarting Roon Core (iMac)
Restarting the speakers
Turning WiFi off/on on the Mac
Reopening Roon multiple times
Confirmed both devices are on the same network

My questions:

Is there a way to force Roon to re-scan or re-discover Roon Ready devices?
What could cause a Roon Ready device to only appear as Chromecast/AirPlay but not as Roon Ready?
Are there any known issues with KEF LSX II LT and Roon discovery?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

The LSX II LT is not Roon Ready. It supports fewer network protocols and audio formats. That is one of the reasons why it is a less costly version of the LSX II.

Thanks for the details, and for the clear comparison between the LSX II and LSX II LT.

As @WiWavelength noted, the LSX II LT is not a Roon Ready device, so it will not appear under the Roon Ready section in Roon. Since you are already seeing it via Chromecast and AirPlay, that is expected behavior rather than a discovery fault.

Can you please let us know if you are seeing any other malfunctions beyond the LSX II LT not being discovered as Roon Ready?

I’ve got the original LSX’s which I use with Roon via KEF Streaming.
