"Device Initialization Failed" on McIntosh ASIO

I am having trouble initializing McIntosh ASIO under Roon. When I try to enable it I get the message “Device Initialization Failed”. The other devices shown on the Audio tab work fine. I can access my music files through the network so there is no issue with access.

The setup is a Synology D415S NAS, a RPI4 connected to the NAS via ethernet cable and a McIntosh D100 digital pre-amp/headphone amp/DAC connected to the RPI4 via USB.

I removed the previous versions of the McIntosh USB Drive and did a fresh install with McIntosh Support with me step by step.

I have checked all physical connections between the NAS, the RPI4 and the D100 and all seems to be in order.

Why is the McIntosh initialization failing?

Directly connected, or via router/switch?
And what’s the RPi OS?

Hopefully a standard, non-boutique USB cable?

Hey @Michael_Kahut,

Following up on @Marin_Weigel’s reply, are you still running into issues here?
