I am trying to use an RPI DAC that provides hardware volume as both DAC and Preamp. I am testing both Allo Boss (original) vs Hifiberry DAC + pro and noticed a difference in device volume presentation. Allo is from 0 to 100 while Hifiberry is from -100DB to 0 similar to presentation of DSP volume which is a bad thing. Both are device volume and Roon shows lossless icon for both and I have no complaint about SQ with digital volume on both. Here are the pictures:
I prefer the Boss presentation. Any settings that can change these?
