Describe the issue

I recently renewed my subscription for ROON. It used to work flawless but now I can’t add other devices like my iPhone or the Bluesound streamer. They just don’t appear in the App. What goes wrong?

Describe your network setup

KPN. Nothing has changed since cancelled my subscription earlier.

Do you see the iPhone output if you look on the iPhone itself?
Phones (and tablets) are set to “private” zone by default, so they don’t appear in Roon apps on other devices until you change that (on the Phone itself in Roon > Settings > Audio > iPhone > gearwheel > Device Setup > Private Zone). Maybe this explains the iPhone part of the problem.

The streamer is different.

  • How is everything connected?
  • Does the streamer not appear in Roon > Settings > Audio at all?

Another useful test would be if you can enable the local output on a computer (e.g., the one that is configured to be the Roon Server) and then if you can see this output on the iPhone. (Don’t forget that all devices need to be enabled first in Roon > Settings > Audio before they become visible as output zones).

Thank you for your e-mail. Unfortunately none of your advices worked out. I never had the problems described and nothing has changed

Hello @Patrick_Wilbrink.

Thank you for reaching Roon support

macOS Sequoia (version 15), has tighter (and more obfuscated) network security settings than preceding MacOS versions.

Can you please navigate to macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network, and make sure Roon is allowed.

If it is already enabled, toggle it off and on again. Then reboot your Mac, and see if the same issue persists.
