Describe the issue

Hi, I'm having issues with setting arc up. The roon core is connected to one network. This network router is then connected to another network router which has Internet access. I'm having difficulty configuring the routers to allow roon core access to roon arc.

Describe your network setup

Secondary network roon core is connected to has an Asus rt-ax55. This router is connected to a virgin media chita router. I believe the model is CGNV4. This router is connected to the Internet.
All devices on the secondary network have Internet access and connect fine. But roon arc cannot

Upnp is enabled on both routers

Hi @paulyc,

Installing Tailscale will be easier than configuring port forwarding manually across two routers.

Please see here:

If you do choose to proceed with port forwarding, you’ll need to create manual port forwarding rules in your routers instead of relying on UPnP. UPnP can’t autoconfigure across two routers.
Find the Port Forwarding section in the router web admin page for each router in your network and create a TCP protocol rule pointing to the port number and IP address from Roon Settings → ARC for both internal/external ports.

Tailscale doesn’t require any of this; it’s as easy as installing the app alongside Roon/ARC on your RoonServer machine and phone.

Thanks so much for your reply Connor. Took me 10 minutes to be up and running with Tailscale. Very easy to get going. :+1:

I’ll still give it a try doing the port forwarding and see if I can figure it out. It will save me having to run additional app/program if I can work it out.
