You can find the version you have in Roon > Settings > About, and the current version is always announced in the top post in the announcement category of the forum:
You can also subscribe to this forum category so that you receive notifications about new Roon updates, either here as forum notifications or as emails (depending on how you chose your forum notification settings)
Hi @Donald_Bland1,
Just checking in — did Suedkiez’s explanation above answer your question?
To recap briefly: you can always see your installed version under Roon → Settings → About, and the latest version is announced in the Software Release Notes section of the forum.
If anything is still unclear or you’d like us to double-check your version with you, just let us know — happy to help.
Hi @Donald_Bland1,
What do you see in Settings → About? Can you share a screenshot here?
Our diagnostic servers indicate that your RoonServer is, in fact, running an outdated version of Roon from mid-2025.
An otherwise well-intentioned network security or convenience feature is likely interfering with Roon’s requests to the update servers.
The simplest path forward would be to:
Create a reliable Backup of your Roon library.
Delete your database by removing the RoonServer folder from the location housing your server.
This will automatically install the latest Roon update.
Long-term, ensure that any third-party network security features have Roon included on the safelist.
We’ll watch for your response.
Hi @Donald_Bland1,
Our diagnostic servers seem to indicate that your Roon devices have successfully updated. We’re going to tentatively mark this thread as resolved, but it will remain open for another day or two in the event you’re still experiencing ongoing issues.
Long-term, we recommend ensuring that your router has a reliable DNS server assigned. This is often in the router web administration page under a dedicated DNS tab, depending on the make/model of your main router. We recommend assigning Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) as the main DNS service to ensure that the URL associated with Roon’s update server can resolve reliably. This will prevent updates from failing in the background and help keep your Roon devices updated.
Let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!
