There are many stations, and since Roon limits the results, only the most popular stations appear in the list (according to the filter.) Therefore, a search is often necessary.

This is a very confusing part of the Roon interface.
You know of a radio station on the web so the obvious thing to do is to open Live Radio in Roon and look for it there, right? Nope. Usually it won’t be found (unless you’ve already played it on Roon before). You have to use the global search instead.
Even though I know this, it still continues to trip me up from time to time, because it is so natural that to listen to a live radio station, you would instinctively go to the Live Radio page first. When you type something into the filter field of Live Radio, shouldn’t it return all matches from all live radio stations? @Suedkiez, is this a bug?
It’s some confusing design as far as Live Radio is concerned, but not a bug. On all pages in Roon, the Filter only does one thing: It filters the items that are already on the page. E.g., on My Albums, it filters My Albums for albums that contain the text string in the album title or artist name. It would be strange if Filter did something else on the Live Radio page. Search is always the top-right button.
IMHO the easy design solution would be to put a larger Search Radio Stations button on the Live Radio page that does fundamentally the same thing as the global search but automatically only returns the radio stations. I.e., only the bottom part of the global search results page, but with more stations visible and perhaps without the More button (except if there is overflow):

We’ll keep this in Support until we confirm you’ve been able to load and play the BBC station using the search tool itself. But this thread is more broadly useful as feedback to our team. We recognize that Live Radio search is a little clunky and often frustrating; Live Radio as a tab has unique data topology compared with the rest of Roon, but it’s currently forced into the general UI structure of the other browsers (Album, Tracks, Search, etc). That’s a compromise from way back, but it’s not set in stone.
If you’d like, we can migrate this to another category (like Roon Software Discussion) where it won’t be subject to topic timers. That way users can continue to weigh in on their preferred implementation for Live Radio search.
