Describe the issue

I am looking for hires radio streaming sites. I use to play Mother Earth, but it has changed its streaming sites, that can no longer be copied to Roon.

Describe your network setup

not important

Mother Earth Radio is already in Roon’s database. Use global search if you can’t find their stations in Roon otherwise.

They all seem to be offline right now. The streams i have found require a login to their site.

Then what played just before answering here when I hit play on Mother Earth Radio (192 kHz FLAC)?
Checked again and still plays for me. Maybe some geo-restrictet access?

I have tried them all and they do not play for me anymore. They used to work, but not anymore, for me.

Even tried using the url in a browser and get this:

I’m in USA here.

No issue here (central europe). Likely geo-restrictions:

No license for the USA.

They work for me in the UK, but I’ve just VPN’d to USA and they don’t work.

So yes, geo-reatrictions in place. I’ll try some other countries.

Impossible to add a restriction flag for a single country (usual to add a flag for an allowed country).

I’ll add a comment to the description instead.

Seems to be the larger European area. No Americas, Far East, Australasia…

There are more countries on this mud ball than are on this list. So I’m pretty sure the USA are not the only country without a license.
Or what’s the meaning of “restriction flag for a single country” if I’m mistaken?

Ok, I need to dig then.

I meant that in the Roon database I can mark a station as allowed for specific countries, I can’t mark it as not allowed for specific countries.

So then it is a good thing that they provide a list of allowed countries, I assume.

Well, not really - I’d have to add about 70 flags! That would test Roon..

Sure yeah … I mean it’s too much to have access to all the radio stations in the Live Radio interface so that must be a strain.

Sarcasm aside, this might be the reality more and more radio stations face in the future (paining license fees world-wide, restrict access or shut down). Maybe Roon needs to adapt.

Added a comment to the station descriptions which I hope will show where the stationa won’t play.
