I just bought my Roon Nucleus, and a Crucial 2TB SSD…….I am new to this, that why I ask
I want to Rip ALL my CD´s to a External SSD, an been able to play them via My Nucleus, (Primary) or any other device, as my car interface, etc……… I need you recommend me how to do, and which program to use.
I tried with dBpoweramp CD Ripper, but I am not able to listen, I mean ….it does not recognize de external SSD, and not read the files
I want to Rip in FLAC Format, Lossless , as I have understood that ALAC only works with Mac`s as server
I will do via my MacBook Pro
What do I need to do, and which program do I need tu use to be able to RIP My CD´s, and how is the process to do so?? Once ripped, what is next….please help me step by step
Thanks in advance

· I have My Nucleus connected directly to my Linksys Router via cable. In the same router I have connected my Devialet Expert Pro 140, so when I open the Roon app, I can see my Devialet EP 140 via cable, in the ***Settings--Audio***

Please do not create multiple threads for the same concern, it just dilutes and confuses the issues at hand.
Congrats on the new Nucleus! Let’s get you squared away and playing music as quickly as possible. Here’s a step by step that should get you there:
STEP 1 — Format Your External SSD Correctly
Before anything else, your external SSD must be formatted so both your Mac and the Nucleus can read it.
Format it as: exFAT
On your MacBook:
Open Disk Utility (search with Spotlight)
Select your external SSD on the left
Click Erase
Name it (e.g. MusicLibrary)
Format: choose exFAT
Click Erase
STEP 2 — Create a Folder Structure on the SSD
On the SSD, create a simple folder:
MusicLibrary/
└── Music/
All your ripped albums will go inside that Music folder.
STEP 3 — Rip Your CDs with dBpoweramp (your instinct was right!)
dBpoweramp is actually the best tool for this. Here’s how to configure it correctly:
Open dBpoweramp CD Ripper on your Mac
Insert a CD
Set the output format to FLAC (Lossless)
Set the destination folder — this is likely where your problem was:
Click the folder/path selector
Navigate to your external SSD → Music folder
Example path: /Volumes/MusicLibrary/Music/
Set naming convention to something like: [FLAC] artist\album\track - title This creates tidy Artist → Album → Track folders automatically
Click Rip
dBpoweramp will look up metadata (artwork, track names, etc.) automatically via the internet.
STEP 4 — Connect the SSD to Your Nucleus
Once you have ripped some music:
Plug the external SSD into one of the USB ports on the back of the Nucleus
On your Mac, open the Roon app
Go to Settings → Storage
Click Add Folder
Roon will see the Nucleus and its USB drive — navigate to your Music folder
Click Add
Roon will now scan and import all your FLAC files. This may take a few minutes depending on how many albums you have.
STEP 5 — Play Your Music
Once imported:
Open Roon → your library will appear with full artwork and metadata
Select your Devialet Expert Pro 140 as the output zone
Press play — enjoy!
About Playing in Your Car - for the car, the simplest approach is to download and use Roon ARC, Roon’s mobile app that lets you stream your Nucleus library to your phone while away from home, including in the car. You can find it in your mobile devices app store.
