Hey @anon95008077,

Thanks for writing in and welcome to the community! We’re excited to have you here.

In Roon, the display of artist information is influenced by both the ‘Artist’ and ‘Album Artist’ tags embedded in your local music files. To ensure that Roon displays artists using the ‘Album Artist’ tag from your files, you can adjust your import settings accordingly. Here’s how:

  1. Access Import Settings: Open Roon and navigate to Settings>Library>Import Settings

  2. Adjust Metadata Preferences: within the Import Settings, locate the section related to artist metadata. Set the preference for ‘Album Artist’ to Prefer File. This instructs Roon to prioritize the ‘Album Artist’ tag from your local files over its own metadata.

  3. Apply Changes

Keep in mind that Roon won’t always display only your imported metadata. It still references its own metadata sources and selects what it determines to be the most accurate information available online. Whether Roon uses your metadata or its own will depend on the specific album and how much matching data is available.

Here’s more information on this:

I hope this helps! :raised_hands:
