Display can't see HTTP://10.1.1.82:9100/Display/

I’m using a 1018 Mac Mini as a Roon Server (1.7 Build 528) and endpoint. I have an older Mac mini (2012) that I’m trying to use as a Roon Display while playing audio through a Pecan Pi.
The audio and video signals are sent (HDMI) through my Marantz SR-7011 AVR then out to the speakers and a Sony 4k projector.

The Pecan Pi DAC/Bridge works well for the audio but for the video when using Safari on the MacMini and using the URL address of http://10.1.1.82:9100/Display it shows “not found”

Any ideas?

  • Check if the address is correct
  • Check that both Macs are on the same network
  • Check for a maybe blocking firewall (disable firewalls on both Macs)

Thanks for the suggestions.

With regard to checking if the address is correct, I’ve seen two URL addresses from Roon. One is the above and the other is http://192.168.1.27:9100/Display. Which one is correct?
Both firewalls are off. Both Macs are logged on to my home wi-fi network.

I have occasionally seen a black background with ROON in white. Not the information about what music is playing.

Hi Ron,

If you see the Roon logo on the screen, then you’re almost there.

Click on the volume icon at the bottom right of your remote screen. Then click the display icon. See here:

Then click Display Now:

When I see the Roon logo in the middle of the remote screen, there is no other text on the screen. No volume icon and no way to select anything.

The Roon logo on the screen should be on your display screen using Safari or another browser.

Go back to the Roon app and that’s where you’ll see the volume icon.

So you may have a VPN configured on your Core machine (10.1.1.82)? Try using the other address (192.168.1.27).
