I run my network with a server connected via wired network, and some of my endpoints are wireless, including a Pi Zero with USB-C 3.5mm adapter to a mono speaker.
Today while I was playing to the PiZero, the remote kept timing out and complained about “slow data/slow music” (sorry can’t remember the exact details).
At first I thought it’s my Qobuz external networking acting up, but restarting Roon, logout/login Qobuz didn’t help and all my other devices seems to be working as intended without stutter.
This is when I looked at the server log and found that it’s the server having a hard time syncing the clock to the PiZero. I think Roon should improve the messaging and pinpoint the exact issue because according to the logs, the server knows exactly what’s going on. (endpoint X is having trouble syncing with the server). Having a vague error will throw a lot of people off (you can definitely tell from the long list of complaints that went nowhere on this site)
After rebooting my home router, everything was back to normal.
