Does ROCK do DSD512?

When I use Roon with my Linux/HQPlayer I can playback DSD512…
When I use ROCK, maximum rate that I can select is DSD256…

Both sound excellent, but I was wondering why I cannot play DSD512 in ROCK…

Any advice, or is this just not possible in ROCK?

The limiting factor will be there DAC and if it’s reporting it can handle DSD 512 under Linux.

DSD512 requires native DSD over USB support. DSD over PCM only supports up to DSD256.

Native DSD mode requires kernel updates to recognize the USB device IDs that support this. ROCK includes some, but isn’t updated as frequently as say RoPieee and DietPi update their kernel with new native-DSD-recognized USB devices. This has come up a few times in the forums here, as I recall…

FYI…its a SMSL SU8 V2…

Any updates?

Nope, but I am happy, sounds great already.
I cannot really hear a difference between 128 and 256.
I can play 512 when I use windows and jriver…but again, I cannot really hear any difference.
Maybe with headphones you could hear it.
