The Stooges are doubled.
The first one ha TiVi bio and Wiki entries
The second one has no TiVo bio and identical wiki entries
I have three of them sigh
The third one without the picture has no bio but does have Birth Formed Place/Date. And all 3 are credited on several albums:
3 for me !!!
Both TiVo and MusicBrainz retain distinct artists for The Stooges and Iggy and the Stooges.
This MusicBrainz entry has explicit instructions not to merge with this one.
Consequently, we’re not going to take any action here, but you may of course merge these artists in Roon if you so choose.
This stuff is very tricky, because the TiVo discographies are not clear cut. We’ll take a look at the third “duplicate” – which appears to be the non-equivalenced TiVo instance of Iggy & the Stooges – and see if we can do a manual merge without messing anything up.
Okay, I’ve made an edit to add the duplicate TiVo Iggy & the Stooges id into the main Iggy and the Stooges group.
The metadata are not 100% consistent, but I think it’s better to merge than not. It’s a similar consistency problem to that where albums are credited to Bill Evans or Bill Evans Trio depending on the opinion of the person doing the data entry.
As I said in my previous post, you will still have the choice to merge The Stooges and Iggy and the Stooges if you consider them one and the same thing.

I disabled the Iggy & The Stooges and added Iggy and The Stooges and The Stooges to my albums so they show up under either. But good to get the ampersand version removed.
This is now fixed on our servers.
