which downloads version 2.0, making it impossible to downgrade to 1.8 on Linux.

Thanks for pointing this out. It would appear that there was an error in the process which generated the installer script for this deployment. We are in the process of correcting it and will update here when complete.

@gmit2 , this has now been fixed but the old version is still being cached in some places. This download link will bypass the cache and download the new version.
