Since last update to core and ARC none of my 200+ downloads are now accessible when ARC is offline or cannot connect to server. It’s just been synced so this isn’t the issue as soon as I switch offline mode on they are unavailable to play.
Please explain why this happens in the first place as it’s something that’s been going on for as long as downloads was added . It’s just not good enough as this happens regular to different users. This time I think I am done with the app if I can’t get access to them again I’m not wasting more time adding them again for it to happen again.
Thank you for your post. There are two possible mechanisms for what you’re experiencing.
Sync authorization issues because ARC has a copy of a database that no longer exists. This occurs if you have a) Restored a Backup or b) migrated RoonServer to a new machine. This is a known product limitation and broken window for which we have a ticket.
However, diagnostic logging doesn’t show a recent restored Backup. Unless you synced ARC to a completely separate database in the last few days, this is more likely case #2.
The sync is only partially completing or contains incorrect location data. We can see numerous sync failures during the 24 hours preceding the screenshot above; not all of them fail on the RoonServer side.
We need to investigate with development why the ARC database isn’t associating your downloaded albums with the offline storage location. Please allow some time to escalate for us to provide a thorough next step.
Overall, this isn’t normal behavior and you can expect associated fixes or improvements to be merged soon.
I have not restored a backup for sometime. So definitely not cause 1.
I did see some return once I had gone into the album and a few more recent additions are available. I managed to get the one shown in my ticket briefly available to, by going into it then going offline but after another attempt to try this with another album it was inaccessible again.
We’ll reach out with a more definite answer soon on the particular failure mechanism here.
In the meantime, the latest EA release contains RoonServer-side changes that will possibly affect this ARC symptom. Please let us know if you either a) encounter this symptom again on the production ARC build or b) switch to EA
HI @connor just updated and it seems I can access my downloads again. Lets leave this open for a while so I can confirm it all good for a prolonged period as not had much time to test on my commute,
