DSD Dop.. good freq?

I don’t know if it is the good category, but i have a question.

Same DSD 64 file on USBridge with squeezelite and roon (DOP ?):
DietPi soundcard info :

   Momentary freq = 176394 Hz (0x16.0c98)
   Feedback Format = 16.16
 Interface 2
   Altset 1

   Data packet interval: 125 us

Same with Roon :
Amanero Technologies Combo384 Amanero at usb-aotg_hcd.1-1.1, high speed : USB Audio

Playback:
 Status: Running
   Interface = 2
   Altset = 1
   Packet Size = 228
   Momentary freq = 176395 Hz (0x16.0ca0)
   Feedback Format = 16.16
 Interface 2
   Altset 1
   Format: S32_LE
   Channels: 2
   Endpoint: 5 OUT (ASYNC)
   Rates: 32000, 44100, 48000, 88200, 96000, 176400, 192000, 352800, 384000
   Data packet interval: 125 us

Differences :
(Squeeze) Momentary freq = 176394 Hz (0x16.0c98) // (Roon) Momentary freq = 176395 Hz (0x16.0ca0)
Impair frequencie for Roon ?? 176395 Hz (0x16.0ca0)
An explication ?

Hello @Stef_Dahl,

Thanks for your question here. I’m going to pass it on to the technical team and will let you know their feedback.

Rounding error?

Really, does it matter?

Hello @Stef_Dahl,

I spoke to the technical team regarding your question. This frequency difference doesn’t have anything to do with Roon and is due to the actual frequency of the crystal based on what is being reported.

This value can change due to external variables, such as the temperature of the room or the board itself and that is what you are seeing here.

Thanks,
Noris

Thanks Noris, I can sleep less stupid :wink:
