Describe the issue

I'm testing roon installed on my synology and with my denon avr-x7200w (that can play dsd files via dlna), but via roon I don't see how to stream dsd files directly and I don't want to loose quality. I'm testing roon before tell a customer about it, he owns a stormaudio ISP elite mk3.

Very simple answer.
First, you can’t test it using the Denon X7200WA and say it will or won’t work like this with the Stormaudio ISP elite mk3. Doesn’t make sense :slightly_smiling_face: They are totally different animals.

  • The Denon is not roon ready. So, it won’t accept/process any roon/RAAT data directly. No matter if PCM or DSD, stereo or multichannel.
  • The Stormaudio is roon ready. But, be careful. Whatever input signals it supports besides roon concrete roon/RAAT support can vary a lot. Esp. number of max. supported channels, sampling rates, bit depths and PCM vs. DSD encoding.
  • Take a close look into the Stormaudio’s manual and ask their support if it lacks important information.
  • In the very best case the Stormaudio would accept (nearly) every audio signal from roon/RAAT. In worst case it would not go beyond stereo PCM. Only Stormaudio can tell you. Or you test it on your own.

Hi @noize,
Thanks for reaching out to us to ask about this. @maddib’s comment is correct. The Denon X7000 isn’t a Roon Ready device. Let us know if you have any more questions.
