DSD playback

Hello
I use Roon with a TAIKO EXTREME (2024) and PLAYBACK DESIGNS MPD-8 (2024) connected by a USB cable. When I play Qobuz, whatever the format ok. When I play FLAC up to 24/192 Khz or CD format, ok.
But when I playback DSD file (64 or 128 or 256) and what to play another track, ok if I ask the other track by command (play now). I I stop a track and want another, all is stopped with message “too many failures”. Sometime I hear white noise as if the file is not decoded. I remove all filters I could with help of TAIKO Support, test another USB cable certified by PB Designs, checked the files download, nothing work. Of course the TAIKO and MPD-8 are absolutely cable of playing these files. Any idea to solve this problem I think inherent to Roon?

You will need to install ASIO drivers for the DAC most likely on the Taiko as it’s a Windows based product I believe and it requires them to be installed for DSD native I believe. Then you would choose the ASIO output in Roon for the driver.

Yes you’re right but TAIKO ASIO driver is selected as TAIKO suggested. So the problem root cause is elsewhere…

Have you installed the DACs own driver from the manufacturer? Or did they do it for you. As it has its own one. I would test it with another app to rule out if it’s Roon or the server first.

TAIKO Extreme 2024 has ASIO as standard installed. As far as I know, TAIKO extreme works only with Roon.

I think Roon is the root cause of the problem, no issue with Mac directly driving my MPD-8Ai
