have you tried this via another PC with roon bridge…could it be that the combination of running the USB DAC and the DSD upsampling on the same machine…though I would doubt it.

All are run at same pc. Roon core > USB audio output. > SONY TA-ZH1ES. do I need to output via bridge?

Output via bridge won’t change anything here.

Can you run HWMonitor during the upsampling and show us a screenshot like this:

I want to make sure that your temperatures + actual CPU frequencies (post-scaling) are healthy.

@brian. My cpu temperature is below 45c and I run stress test for hour can maintain below 70c.

What is the actual and Max clock speed during upsampling to DSD512?

What are the per core CPU usage numbers?

(Was looking for more than just temps when I asked for the screenshot–it will help put the performance in context of the system as a whole)

Your screenshot shows that you have not enabled Parallelize Sigma Delta Modulator. @brian I suggest this to be default.

You need to enable it, as @wizardofoz suggested at the beginning.
