There must be mistake!
The reason is missing DSD over PCM only native DSD support.
Just wishful thinking on your side. The PCM1690 is a 8 channel PCM DAC. The DSD signals from your SACD player get converted to PCM somewhere inside your receiver before they reach their respective DAC channels.
So it’s just a waste of time to try to figure out a way to send DSD from Roon to the TX-SR707. I’m sure Roon’s conversion algorithm is as good – when not even better – than the one in the Onkyo.
Anyway av-receiver accept DSD signal via HDMI.
